Spring Player Development Program

The Spring Player Development Program is for  7, 8 & 9 year olds (2nd -  4th graders)  in the current school year.  Games will be played at Wilsonville HS on the turf.  The teams will play in a spring league hosted by Willamette United against teams from other area clubs.  The format will be 8 v 8 so roster size will be a minimum of 10 and max of 14.

Players will be broken into teams based on skill level.  Last year there was a Gold and Silver level at most age groups so we will identify team levels for placement based on coaches recommendation.  Teams will receive 1 practice slot a week and games will start  the week-end of February 20, 2010 – WUSC has agreed to adjust our start date if there are conflicts with basketball, etc.  There will be 8 games played on Saturdays and/or Sundays during the six week season that will end the week-end of April 10, 2010.   There won't be any games or practices scheduled during Spring Break March 20 - 28, 2010.

Some signs that your child may be a good fit for the Spring 2010 PDP Program?

1. Does your child have a strong grasp of basic soccer skills?
2. Was your child one of the stronger players on his or her recreational team last year?
3. Did your child feel like they were not being challenged in their rec games last year?
4. Does your child play soccer in his or her spare time... by their own choice?
5. Does your child LOVE to go to soccer practice and games?
6. Does your child like to play soccer year-round?
7. Does your child watch soccer on TV and ask to go see live soccer games?

Letter from your CUSC Board:
Welcome to another year of fun-filled soccer in the Clackamas/Happy Valley area.  Soccer in our area keeps growing as more and more children and parents discover how much fun kids can have playing with their friends.  That’s one of the goals of recreational soccer, to introduce soccer to your children and let them have fun.  Last year, over 800 children played soccer with Clackamas United Soccer Club and the numbers just keep growing.
Our philosophy is to use the sport of soccer as a means to promote sportsmanship and concepts of fun and fair play.  Our main priorities for rec ball are as follows:
• Have FUN and give your best effort
• Promote and expect great sportsmanship
• Learn soccer fundamentals and teamwork
• Our growth will be measured by individual progress not by our win/loss record.
Soccer is a healthy sport that will develop strong bodies and help build great self-esteem.
It can be enjoyed by kids at all ages and become a life long sport.  Making all this happen is a huge job.  We
encourage you to get involved whether it’s coaching or just being a team parent.  If you

would like to help or have any questions about our programs please contact us (see contact information by clicking the CUSC Board tab to the left).  We’d love to hear from you.
