Coaches Clinic
Friday, August 6th at Oregon Trail Elementary
This is a mandatory clinic for all recreational coaches.  You will receive your rosters, equipment bags, lesson plans and will be able to sign up for practice schedules.
U5-U7 Coaches Clinic:  6 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
U8 and above Coaches Clinic:  7:15 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

WYSA Guidelines (2008 Rec Program Formats:)
U6- kindys and 1st timers

  • Co-ed 3v3
  • Larger ug goals ideally
  • Ball Size 3
  • Games are 4-8 minute quarters.
  • On one field.  No switching fields, or doubling up.
  • Max roster of 6 kids per team. Six maximizes playing time for the kids and will allow for one hour practices.
  • We should have no problem getting coaches. We had a coach plus assistant for every team last year.

U7- 1st graders or experiences Kindys

  • Co-ed 4 v 4
  • Same as above with the following exception:
  • Game time will be 4 10-minute quarters

U8- 2nd graders or experienced 1st graders

  • This group will be separated by gender.
  • The game will be 6 v 6 with a Keeper
  • Game will be two 20-minute halves.
  • Throw-ins and corner kicks will be played. A 'liberal' interpretation of the throw-in will be called.
  • Coach on field recommended to help develop game sense

U9- 3rd graders or developmental soccer teams

  • This group will be separated by gender.
  • The game will be 6 v 6 with a Keeper
  • Game will be two 25-minute halves
  • Throw-ins and corner kicks will be played. A 'liberal' interpretation of the throw-in will be called.
  • No coach on field

U10- 4th graders or developmental soccer teams

  • This group will be separated by gender.
  • The game will be 6 v 6 with a Keeper
  • Game will be two 25-minute halves
  • Throw-ins and corner kicks will be played and called.
  • No coach on field

U11- U12 5th - 6th graders

  • This group will be separated by gender.
  • The game will be 8 v 8
  • Game will be two 30-minute halves
  • Throw-ins and corner kicks will be played and called
  • No coach on field

U13- U14 7th - 8th graders

  • This group will be separated by gender.
  • The game will be 11 v 11
  • Game will be two 35-minute halves
  • Throw-ins and corner kicks will be played and called.
