FALL REC 2020 REVISED

FALL 2020 RECREATIONAL UPDATE INFO - Start date for practices Tuesday, September 8th.
Tentative practice schedule.

As you are aware, Clackamas County is currently in Phase 1 so we are very limited on what we an do as a soccer club. We are closely following the guidelines and recommendations of the Oregon Health Authority and the CDC.

Our tentative plan for going forward with our Fall Rec Season Program is as follows;

While in phase 1, we will be offering 1 practice session during the week to be held on Monday through Thursday within the hours of 2:30pm to 4:30pm for most groups with a few of our older ones practicing within the hours of 5:00pm to 7:00pm. This training session will be coached by 3 members of our competitive coaching staff. These fantastic coaches will be offering your players a variety of coaching styles. John Wyllie, the DOC (Director or Coaching) for CUSC, comes to us from Scotland. Adam Willis comes to us from London. Michelle McHone (Varsity head coach for CHS Girls Program) comes to us straight from Happy Valley! Then we will offer an additional practice on Saturday within the hours of 12:00pm to 6:00pm coached by your appointed volunteer coach.

Currently phase 1 does NOT allow for games to be played. It is our hope that if we move into phase 2 we will then be able to schedule games and access more field space. If and when we move into phase 2 we can adjust practice times. A tentative practice schedule is attached at the bottom of this email. This may change based on final numbers but gives you a basic idea.

Players will be placed in pods of 10 players and will remain with that same group until we move into phase 2. Players MUST bring their own ball so please make sure that their name is on it. Also, players must wear a mask when they are not able to maintain a 6ft distance between other players. It is our goal to maintain this 6 foot distance but players must always have a mask with them in the event this cannot be maintained.

To finalize our plans we will need to have ALL players registered by Friday, August 28th as registration will be closed after this date. We will not be able to refund fees after Friday, August 28th as we will have purchased insurance. We must adhere to strict guidelines and therefore have to have these plans firmly in place and need to know our numbers to have adequate coaching staff in place.

We will be changing our registration fee for the Fall Season for Pre-K thru 8th grades to $70 and High School ages to $90. If you have already paid the original registration fee you will be refunded the difference and will receive notification of the refund. We will also not be requiring uniforms unless we are allowed to play games. We will setup a uniform distribution if we get to that point and will send communication.

We are still looking for a few coaches so if you are interested please contact the office at (503) 550-7535 or email to [email protected] with inquiries. We are really trying to give our players a chance to get some social interaction and physical fitness in a safe environment.

Thank you for all of your continued support as we try and navigate through this.

CUSC PDP (Player Developmental Program)

The U8-U10 Player Developmental League (PDP) provides exposure to a higher level of competition for those players interested. This is done via our PDP Program. These developmental programs are accessible but not mandatory and introduce competition so that families and players can identify a path that aligns with their interest and commitment levels.

During our Spring Classic Tryouts we will also be holding a U8 - U10 Observation to help identify players and families that are interested in playing in a developmental league that occurs during the Summer tournaments, followed by a fall and spring season.

Teams will be assembled by early June but not as quickly as the classic teams. A list of interested participants will be created so that the developmental coaches and CUSC staff can follow up with interested families to discuss the options available based on interest and ability.

There is no fee for U8/U9/U10 Developmental Soccer Observations. However if your child is participating in the Classic Tryout in additon to the U9/U10 Developmental Soccer Observation, there is a one-time fee of $25. You can pre-register for the Classic Tryout on the website.
